We work with a range of clients across the Accounting market in Canberra. We count ourselves as fortunate to hold relationships with most Government CFO’s and SES as well as close relationships with most Chartered Partners in both Business Services and Management Consulting firms, from boutique through to the Big 4. In addition to this, we work with a large number of Commercial organisations and Not-For-Profit organisations in assisting them with the recruitment of their senior financial staff.

 

Our Candidates

If we had to identify only one point of difference about us, it would be this: The quality of our Candidates.

It is still the most consistent feedback we receive and everything we have built our company around. We still hear the horror stories of recruiters sending thoroughly unsuitable Candidates forward for positions, in the hope that they might somehow get the job. It’s mind-boggling. Our clients never receive more than a few Candidates for any position we recruit and, if in the very rare circumstance we don’t have any highly suitable Candidates to recommend, we’ll tell you that and then work on finding the right person.

Technical skills are, naturally, very important in a profession like accounting, but it’s only half the story. Our focus is on identifying Candidates with quality personal attributes, such as high levels of personal discipline, motivation and a willingness to give their work everything they have. In addition, communication skills are critical and we actively look for skilled communicators who can clearly articulate their message and align a team to deliver.

 

Referred and Passive Candidates

Over two thirds of the positions we have placed  were filled with either individuals who weren’t actively looking when we sought them out, or with a Candidate who came referred to us by a trusted contact. We believe that everyone is a candidate, all of the time, and relying on the 10% of the market who are active job-seekers denies our clients the remaining 90% of talented Accountants who may be open to a change, if the right opportunity is presented to them.

Follow Up

Our job doesn’t finish as soon as our candidates commence in a new position. We actively stay in touch with our clients and candidates, with follow up conversations after the first week, month, quarter and beyond. We do this to ensure all parties are happy with their decisions and to address any potential challenges the moment they arise.
